John started playing in the NSBA in 1983 with the ‘Skytouchers’ and has played or coached at least one team every year since then.

The Skytouchers merged with the ‘Hitmen’ in the mid-late ‘80’s and they had two teams in different grades running as the Hitmen.

At their peak, they had 4 teams going, 2 mens teams and John’s son and daughter’s junior teams.

John currently coaches his daughters team on a Monday night and his 5 and 6 year old boys have continued the Hitmen tradition in our Miniball competition.

On the admin side of things John was on the Basketball Operations Committee in the late 90’s through to the early 2000’s. He also sat on the occasional disciplinary tribunal.

John sponsored the ‘Best & Fairest’ award for Juniors through the mid 2000’s where he awarded Best & Fairest trophies to a player in each team.
