Roupen started playing at Norths in 1986 as a 15 year old for the Homenetmen club in the schoolboy’s competition.

He took up referring two years later and has been refereeing for 23 years at Norths.

He has also been a games services coordinator GSC on Sunday and Monday nights for the past 7 years and is currently a member of the Norths Officiating committee.

During his 25 year involvement with Norths there have been many memorable moments, but the one Roupen recalls greatest would be winning the inaugural ethnic cup playing for Homenetmen against Sydney Croatia, at the opening of the open air rooftop basketball courts.
