Arnold was a team organiser and coach of both junior and senior teams.

When our junior competitions started to grow, he took on the position of Junior Competition Secretary. He was determined to find a team for every child that wanted to play basketball at Norths. Woe betide the team manager who declined to take on that extra kid that needed a team!

Arnold suffered from a debilitating muscular disease which would have had anyone else just lying around – but not Arnold. Even from his hospital bed, Arnold would be calling team contacts to place yet another kid who wanted to play basketball.

He was a dedicated coach who inspired great loyalty in his players, which continues to this day.

His hard work, dedication and commitment was an inspiration to all who came into contact with him.

Unfortunately, Arnold passed away from his illness in 1991
