Greg Maraun

Greg started out coaching his son’s Miniball team. He met with Adrian Gallegos, Graeme Reid and Harry Kushkarian to point out all the problems in the Miniball program. The point was rather forcibly made to him that anyone can come up with problems, but if he wanted to be able to change anything, he needed to get involved and be part of the solution.

To his credit, Greg responded by becoming Competitions Director and spent the next 2 years going around all of our venues, checking up to see if there were any problems and answering members’ questions.

He became an assistant coach and then a head coach in our Junior Representative programme. In 2001, he took up refereeing and in 2004 started doing statistics for our Senior representative program. Since 2006, he has been Stats Co-ordinator for Norths.

He was also a Judiciary tribunal Chairman and Chairman of our Stadium Committee, charged with finding a suitable site, designing and building the new stadium which we so urgently need.
