Geoff Gauci first became involved as team manager for his son, Godfrey’s, rep team. He quickly showed how passionate he was to the team, who quickly became “his boys”.

When they moved from the Junior Representative program to the Senior Representative program, Geoff contributed significantly to the team as sponsor, offsetting the high costs of travel. This enabled the team to go to Victoria to participate in the Diamond Valley Shoot-out, the first and only Norths’ team to do so. This team included some now well-known Norths players, such as Miles Pearce and Luke Brennan, as well as Geoff’s son, Godfrey.

In subsequent years, Geoff’s support enabled the team to make end-of-season trips to Fiji, Guam and the Gold Coast, but they were unable to give him the championship that he so keenly desired, perennially losing out in the Grand Final or semi-finals.

Geoff also contributed his expertise by becoming a member of the Board during this time.
