Tony Naar

Tony started coaching in our Under 10’s Miniball competition in 1996, when his eldest son started playing. This soon expanded so that he was coaching up to 4 different teams concurrently. During this time, he founded the Untouchables Basketball club that has now expanded into a number of teams.

In 2001, Tony started coaching in our Junior representative program, including coaching 2 rep teams in the same year, twice.

In 2007, his U14 Boys team were undefeated by any team in NSW, and came 6th at the National Junior Club Championships.

He is currently coaching teams in Men's Premier League and Men’s C local comp, and was mentor coach for our Junior representative program in 2011.

Tony joined the Board during the planning and building phase for the stadium.

Tony still plays at Norths and is part of a group of Norths players hoping to attend the 2013 World Masters Games in Turin, Italy.

Tony says “I guess the biggest thrill for me has been to help young people to enjoy and become skilful at a sport that can take them through their lives, and to share part of that life journey with them and their families.”
