John has been a member of NSBA since 1985, holding the role of Secretary between 1985 and 1992.

John also spent time as NSBA’s Competition Secretary in the late 80’s until North’s hired a full-time administrator in 1991. During this time, he founded our Miniball competition with wife Dawn in early 1990’s at Willoughby Leisure Centre.

John was also the coach of NSBA’s inaugural U12 Men’s rep team, with several players from this squad going on to the NBL and other high level playing roles. He later coached both U16 and U18 sides, winning a combined total of 8 league titles.

Some of John’s other roles include refereeing and Judiciary Tribunal Chairman. John was awarded life membership at Norths in 1998.
