Junior Metro League

The Norths Bears Junior Representative Program provides competitive and development opportunities for players 9 – 17 years, with the program offering boys and girls teams in the Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups.

The Bears compete in the Basketball New South Wales Metropolitan Junior League, which runs from March to August each year. Trials are conducted for all junior teams in October and November of each year and trial dates are advertised on the NSBA web-site and at the stadium.

The NSBA appoints all team coaches and provides ongoing support and education to the coaching panel throughout the season. Each team also has a team manager, who is appointed by the association and provides support for the coach and also plays a key role in managing the welfare of the young players in that team.

Junior representative teams train twice per week during the season, with sessions conducted 5.30pm – 6.45pm Monday – Thursday at the North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre or other venues within a 15 kilometre radius of the NSISC.

Selected players are required to attend all team training sessions and games, with representative games played on each Sunday during the MJL season.

There is an annual fee that is required to pay to participate in the junior representative program and there are also costs associated with the purchase of some uniform items. These costs and other information on tournaments will be provided to all players who register to trial for the representative program.
