The United Filipino Organization is calling on all interested 20-and-under and 15-and-under teams to sign up for its 2013 UFO Basketball League.
Coordinator Abner Venus said so far only one team has signed up for the 20-and-under (youth) age group—the Sonics. Meanwhile, two teams have registered for the 15-and-under (junior youth) competition—Division of Youth Services and Mobil Oil Marianas.
Two other age groups will see action in this year’s competition. The masters or 40-and-over league so far has four teams, namely defending champion Armatech, Wings Travel, MAFEA, and Tan Holdings-Degree.
The open league (35-and-under), meanwhile, has Mobil Oil Marianas, Kanoa Resort, Hoopaholics, KB Market, and Ol’Aces already expressing interest.
The 2013 United Filipino Organization Basketball League kicks off on Sept. 22 at the TSL Sports Complex’s Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
Before the actual games start, the opening ceremony will promptly begin at 1pm on that day. Playing dates for the league will be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, if necessary. First game is at 6:30pm and second game is at 8pm.
