Gabe Olopai

Long time sports activist and Treasurer of the Chuuk Basketball Association (CBA) passed away recently. Gabe will be missed by the youth of Chuuk, and especially by those from the Westerns, Halls and Namanuitos where he provided support and encouragement for them to participate in sports.

Gabe was also one of the first Chuukese to see the potential that Chuukese had in the sport of wrestling. He encouraged young men from his home island of Hok (Pulusuk) to try wrestling. It was one of these young men that won gold for the FSM at this year's SPG Mini Games in Palau. more -->
