School Competitions

Yes it's the Secondary schools competition that is being played every Saturday from June 18th 2005. Total number of schools participating is 9.

Categories of competition are U15 - U19 with schools entering 3 teams of girls and boys, some teams also enter 2 teams per categories. Numbers of teams are 18 girls' team and 20 boys' teams.

Secondary schools are as follows Marist Brothers, Yat Sen, Gospel High, International Secondary, Latter Day Saints, and Suva Grammar for the boys and the girls are Yat Sen, Gospel High, International Secondary, Adi Cakobau, St Joseph, Suva Grammar and Latter Day Saints.

The Secondary schools competition is played at the Suva Grammar Courts, they have 3 courts, court 1 is covered and the other 2 is outdoor. Our competition starts at 9:00am - 2pm and this will run for 8 weeks.

Saturday morning at 9:00am the atmosphere at the Suva Grammar courts are awesome with teenage youth playing the games of basketball and the talents that the future reps of FIJI have is ernomous showing their skills and potential which is encouraging.

With the power jammer the famous DJ Junior and his pop music players are pumped and enjoying the beat of the music.

Also the presence of our FIJI Men' and Women' team to the Mini Games in Palau officiating in the competition makes a lot of difference.

It boosts the moral of playing for the teams and also the players showing off their hidden talents which I feel the selectors will think twice.
