WHILE people enjoyed the New Year in the comfort of their homes, a group of children from the densely populated Raiwaqa area sweated it out at Ed's Court for the love of basketball. Although no monetary prize or trophy was given, it was their passion for the game that saw them organise themselves into groups and play their hearts out with lots of fun and excitement. "It's not about money or trophy. We just play the game for fun," said 15-year-old Vika Ramara. It was interesting to note that the children were immediate family members of those who have played and represented Raiwaqa in basketball in the past. Raiwaqa is a powerbase for basketball in Fiji with many players from the areas representing the country in international events.
