It was unfortunate that Topps was hospitalized on the eve of his departure to Auckland, New Zealand for the FIBA Oceania administrtaion workshop held from 2nd to 7th October. His unavailability also caused the cancellation of Leo Saiske's trip to NZ. The workshop was reported on by ZDO Stuart Manwaring who commented that 13 of the 21 member federations of FIBA Oceania were represented and comprized some 35 persons. Attendees learned about the new FIBA organizer software that will revolutionize the administration work of federations in organizing competitions.
