Jailhouse Rock 3 on 3 Tournament

Once again the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF) in conjunction with the Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) Outreach program conducts a successful tournament for the Inmates of the Koror Jail. 5 teams compromising of 5 players each team competed for 5 days for 2005 Jailhouse Rock championship trophy donated by PNOC and the bragging rights of the Jailhouse rocks basketball. The games were played from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the Jail cement court. The program proves to be a success, as there are currently 8 past inmates who are playing in various teams in the NBL. The Vice President of Palau Mr. Elias Camsek Chin supports the program 100% as it provides character building, healthy lifestyles and physical activities to the youths who are incarcerated. PNOC and PBF donated Trophies and 2 used balls from the MSPG basketball competition and FIBA Oceania donated nets and FIBA rubber balls. Koror State Delegate Joel Toribiong donated 4 cases of chicken and Mr. and Mrs. Minami Ueki, owners of Island Bakery donated a big cake for their New Year celebration. The inmates were very greatful, and in the end the organizers wrote an article to the local paper thanking everyone and for believing in them and supporting their rehabilitation programs. PBF continues to support everyone in the community and believes by spreading the love we can definetly change peoples lives. NO ONE WILL BE LEFT BEHIND........
