PBF Referee and Athlete wins 2005 PNOC Awards

It was indeed a great night for the Palau Basketball Federation as it bagged 2 of the 5 PNOC federation (14 federation under PNOC) awards.
Women Basketball star Stephanie Ngirchoimei won the PNOC Female Athlete of the year 2005 for her role and accomplishments in the Women National squad in the MSPG tournament, she was selected as one of the top ten stars and was also in the top ten scoring leaders of the tournament. She ousted women's national track star (100 & 200 meter) Ngerak Florencio who is currently in a sports scholarship training in New Zealand, and also the tandum Twins of Alexadra and Alexendria Patris in the Weighlifting program.
Myers Techitong won the 2005 PNOC Sports Official of the Year beating 13 other sports nominees. He was selected for his role in the success of the MSPG basketball tournament in 2005 and also for the Referees training he attended in January 2005 in Sydney. The Australian Youth Olympic Festival sponsored by FIBA Oceania. He is also a very active officer and a referee of the Palau Basketball Referees Association and officiates various games and evaluates the junior referees.
The PBF also awarded its federation top athletes, coaches, Official, volunteer and sponsors Yutaka Gibbons Jr. won the PBF Male athlete, Stephanie Ngirchoimei won the female athlete, Lyndon Ngiramolau won the Referee of the year,Ulai Kyota won the Table Official of the year, Sinton Soalablai won the coach of the year and Winkler Maech won the Volunteer of the year. Sponsor of the year went to Rudimch Enterprise, and special recognition awards went to Western Union Money Transfer, Koror State Government, Ministry of Health Substance abuse program. Corporate sponsors were Shell Palau and Surangel and Sons Company.
