2007 Government/Business League

MINISTRY of Finance (MOF) employed a fiery fourth quarter attack to crush the PHS Spiders, 87-70, in Game Three of the Season Finals in the 2007 Rudimch Enterprises Government/Business League on Dec. 28 at the Palau National Gymnasium.
MOF broke-away from a 60-57 third quarter lead as the undermanned 2005 champions scored 29 points in the fourth quarter while limiting the Spiders to just 13 to wrap-up the best-of-three series to 2-1.
Earlier, PHS won Game One, 75-72, on Dec. 26 but MOF leveled the count in Game Two, 88-75, on Dec. 27.
Sunshine Soalablai, scored 24 points in Game Two and 27 in Game Three, was adjudged as the Most Valuable Player for the Season Finals.
Weston Ketebengang, who had 27 in Game Two, came up with 14 in Game Three. Clint Mersai and Giovanni Siliang added 17 and 16, respectively.
The other members of the team are Jon Eriich, Marcus Hangaripai, Edson Chokai and coach Duane Hideo.
The awarding of trophies was held at the Bottom Time Restaurant of Sam's Tours shortly after the championship game.
Burton Wong of President's Men was named Government Division MVP while Arnold Undecimo of Surangel and Sons was Business Division MVP.
For the second straight year, Sam's Tours won the sportsmanship award while its own Patrick Martin became the coach of the year.
