Samoa National Basketball put together a Mr. Burger 3on3 Basketball Tournament this coming week 25th of May; we named the Tournament after one of the local business sponsor ‘Mr. Burger’, the events run for 3 weeks straight in a row.

Coffs Harbour NBDO Workshop

When the time to act comes, the time to prepare is over. This will be a great opportunity for each and everyone of us (NBDO)to develop skill and gain more knowledge regarding basketball development in Samoa, been in Australia for two weeks workshop was an excellent experience. I noticed that basketball development in Australia was very creative and very successful.

Samoa Games a Huge Success

The Samoa Games Basketball program was a huge success, according to SBF and FIBA Oceania officials. Games were held over 4 days, culminating in winners trophies being awarded to Alafua Malo in the men's competition, and Ensign in the women's.

Basketball program underway

The Basketball program of the Samoa Games commenced last night. Games were due to get underway at 5.00pm, but a power outage put games back some time.
All teams were in uniform and keen to take to the courts. The trainee scorebench and statistics volunteers were waiting for the doors of the stadium to open, and did a fantastic job. Referees were dressed in yellow shirts, proudly showing the FIBA Oceania logos.

18 Teams for Samoa Games

The Samoa Games have attracted 12 men's and 6 women's teams from across the country for the 2007 Samoa Games, which commence today (Wednesday). The Games will start with a giant street parade of all participating teams at 4.00pm today, and the basketball games get underway at 6.00pm

FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament to start October 15t

The FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament is to be held in New Zealand from October 15th - 21st. While Samoa won't be sending any teams, a number of referees and officials will be attending to help prepare them for next years South Pacific Games.
