MOCE BREAKS SUVA WARRIORS 7 YEAR EASTER TOURNAMENT REIGN
EPL 2011 - Round 1 Results
Half centuries from Sekove Ravoka, Joji Bulabalavu and captain Waisake Tukaha allowed the Lau Voyagers dominate the opening round of the Elite Player League in Nadi.
Lau took on the Suva Capitals in two Twenty20 matches at the Namaka Public School ground and were easy victors in both games, winning the first by 34 runs and the second by 106 runs.
Patrick Tuidraki Joins Cricket Fiji Staff
Cricket Fiji’s development team has a new face to add to its ranks with 22-year-old Patrick Tuidraki joining the team in the west.
Tuidraki, who is also in the Cricket Fiji senior squad, will be based in Lautoka and takes over from Gaurang Patel, who stood down from the position last month to concentrate on his own cricket.
Cricket Fiji Launches 2011 EPL
Over 40 of Fiji’s best cricketers will be in action this weekend with Cricket Fiji launching its Elite Player League for 2011.
This will be the third year the elite competition will be run and selectors will use the tournament as a final chance to run the rule over players ahead of Fiji’s first international tour for the year in early July.
Suva Warriors win LICI Cricket Fiji Easter Tournament
The date was different but the story was the same as the Suva Warriors made it seven consecutive LICI Cricket Fiji Easter Tournaments at Albert Park today.
In almost identical circumstances to last year Warriors overcame Moce in the decider as they continued their supremacy over the annual competition since 2005.
Cricket Fiji Announce Women's Squad
Cricket Fiji has named three debutantes in its women’s squad to tour Vanuatu for a tri-series in April.
Moce’s Sera Mafi and Luisa Vosaki, and Nadi’s Makalesi Madi will make their first appearance for Fiji as part of the 14-player squad which will make just its second international tour since the inception of women’s cricket in Fiji 18 months ago.
The squad also includes four internationally based players – captain Losi Harford and all-rounder Semaema Raramasi from New Zealand, vice-captain Alicia Dean from Australia and Sera Kaukiono, who was previously a development officer for Cricket Fiji, but presently lives in Japan.
Jon Symonds joins Cricket Fiji as General Manager
Cricket Fiji is delighted to announce the appointment of new General Manager Mr Jon Symonds.
Mr Symonds takes over from Martin Shaw who departed Fiji in early November.
He commenced his new role from January 7 after he arrived in Fiji from the United Kingdom where he was previously based.
EPL Round 4 Results
Resuming after a two week break caused by rain, the Bulldogs played the Suva Capitals at Central College, Lautoka and recorded a narrow 26 run victory to bring them back into contention for a place in the EPL Final.
