Miranda, Joey III C.
Joey serves as the current chairman of the Guam National Team, Guam Youth Team and Guam Youth Preparatory Program as well as the Secretary-General of the Congress. Miranda has been a member of the Guam National Team since 1991 and competed as a Youth team member from 1989-1991. Miranda chaired the successful hosting of the 8th World Tenpin Bowling Youth Championship and is also the Secretary-General of the Asian Seniors Bowling Council at the age of 32. His accomplishments in the bowling arena includes the lone Bronze medal for Team Guam in the 3rd East Asian Games in Osaka, Japan as well as a member of the Gold medal duo along with Anthony Padua Jr. in the 6th Asian Youth Bowling Championship in 1991. Along with Padua he also was Guam's first representative to the 1st FIQ WTBA World Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship held in Manila, Philippines in 1990. His major local titles includes the 2005 Budweiser King of the Lanes, 2004 All I Want for Christmas Tournament Champion, 2003 Guam-Saipan Memorial Day Masters Tournament, Gecko Lanes 2003 Annual Spring Championship and 2000 Super Bowl Sctach Tournament, and the 1997 & 1998 Guam Brunswick Tournament of Asian Champion. He has represented Guam in all capacities including bowler, manager, coach and delegate to the FIQ WTBA World Championships in Malaysia (2003) and Reno, Nevada (1995); Multi Sporting Events such as the 2001 World Games in Japan and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd East Asian Games; finished 6th in the qualifying rounds for the 1st Brunswick Asian Tournament of Championship in Guangzhou, China (1997); Asian Bowling Championships in Bangkok, Thailand (2004), Hong Kong (2002), Taipei (1998), Seoul, Korea (1996), Guam (1994) and Perth, Australia (1992); numerous East Asian Bowling Championships and Asian Intercity Championships. His Youth portfolio includes coaching and managing duties for the World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand (2002), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2000), Seoul, Korea (1998), Hermosillo, Mexico (1994), Caracas, Venezuela (1992); Asian Youth Championships in Hong Kong, China (2003), Singapore (1999), Manila, Philippines (1997); Asian Youth Championships in Hong Kong (2004), Brisbane, Australia (2002) and Bangkok, Thailand (2001). He competed in the 1st World Youth Championship were he finished 9th in the All Events, 6th in the Doubles Event and 12th in the Masters Event; 5th Asian Youth Championship where he and Padua finished fourth in the Doubles event and the 1991 Asian Youth Championship in Guam. This volunteer Funeral Director for Our Lady of Peace is also the Operations Manager of Unity Development Corporation.
