A brief meeting was held in Auckland, New Zealand with the Prime Minister of Samoa and SPGC President Vidhya Lakhan, SPGC Secretary General Jim Tobin, and SASANOC Secretary General Va'a Potoi. The Prime Minister was returning to Samoa from a Pacific Forum meeting in Japan and the others were attending an Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) Secretaries General workshop in Auckland.
The group discussed the problems with the relationship between SASANOC, the Games Organizing Committee and the Authority in properly organizing the upcoming 2007 South Pacific Games. SPGC Lakhan kindly requested that the Prime Minister's office intervene and help resolve the differences. The Prime Minister agreed to meet with all parties when he returned to Samoa.
SASANOC will be holding its Executive Board elections on Friday 11 March.
