All the final rounds commenced at 10am for all the competitions eventhough the sun didnt show up.The weather is forecast and some light showers this morning.....

It is the first time ever for the South Pacific Games Lawn Bowls Competition to be played under flood lights.

All Games at Faleata Sports Complex Venue were cancelled this morning due to a washout for the Fours Competition of both Men and Women. Apia Park Venue is now being used for the Singles Competition....

Phoebe Koriki Evans, just 15 years of age is from Norfolk Island and has played lawn bowls for the last three years at the Norfolk Bowling Club. Evans is having a good time here and is enjoying the chance to meet athletes and volunteers from Samoa and around the South Pacific.

The combination of the Mens Pairs from Fiji were good enough as to put a challenge to Papua New Guinea....

Samoa has taken Silver from the Womens Triples Competition and what a challenging game it has been....

Faleata bowling greens set the stage as the medalist faces beamed with pride and joy! Not only the National Anthems for the gold medalists were played but also the appropriate 'siva' sounds boomed out and the delighted crowd joined in with the siva and song!

Competition will recommence tuesday morning with round 4.... Mens and womens singles will be played at the Tanoa Bowling Green at Apia Park. Mens and womens fours to recommence at Faleata Greens tomorrow morning.

Conditions of the bowling greens are marginal due to the heavy rain last night. Hopes are up that we won't have any more rain and wish for light winds to dry the greens.It is now the survival of the mentally fit to handle and adjust to the conditions.

Also in Mens Singles, Fiji, the defending gold medalists is challenged by PNG and Norfolk Island who both have good scores to set themselves up as the leaders for this Competition......

PNG putting the challenge up for the Fijians(defending gold medalists). After beating Norfolk Island, 28 to 4.
Also on the other rink, Fiji defeats Niue, 28 points to 5. Therefore leaving a one-point score diffference in Round 1 and claiming the lead....

What a start for the Cooks ladies after putting up a good fight with the Fijians, just a 2 point lead to take the first round....

Feao Wright, her first-time-singles rep has got off to an early good start.

The Tokelauan ladies combination smashed the Samoan Team with 21 points to 10.

After beating Niue,31 points to 10,the Tokelauan LADIES PAIRS stole the GOLD from Samoa despite their win against the Cooks. Samoa,down by 6 points to Tokelau takes second place.

After a tough game with the Samoans, the Fijians managed to beat them but it still was not enough for a silver or gold.Despite that from their current position they knocked out Tokelau who were also vying for Bronze.

First-time International Skip rep, Feao Wright, thanked her 2nd-in-command,Christina Gabriel for her experienced directorship of play strategy, which helped the team to improve day by day. Cathy Ulberg as lead displayed awesome concentration as a first time international player for Samoa.

Day 3 and the final round for Womens Triples Competition and the Cooks have run away with it after defeating Niue 18 points to 11.....

Well they do want to watch in style...

To finish off Day 2,Round 4, another win for the Samoa Mens Triples despite missing out on their lunch meal.....

Assisting with the games in all sorts of areas, the lovely cheery faces of the volunteers was seen while they are eager to get involved with the SPG Lawn Bowls Games 2007.

On Day 2,the Samoan Mens Triples (SPG Silver Medalists)team was upset yesterday but today is a new day ....

Both the Mens Triples and Womens Pairs return after Round 1.

The Tokelauan Mens Triples team ended the day with with confidence to improve even more.

The Tokelau Mens Triples upset the Norfolk Islands team when they came out with a HUGE win...

The Venue for 2007 Lawn Bowls Competition will commence on Monday 27th August at Faleata Sports Complex.....

THE Papua New Guinea men's bowling team have set their sights on reaping medals at the forthcoming South Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.
The Games will be held from August 25 to September 8.

Bowls PNG president Pelik Sapul said as part of their leadup preparations towards the SP Games the men's lawn bowls team was undertaking an intensive one week tour of Far North Queensland starting next Wednesday....

Tokelau team has arrived and the Tanoa Bowling Club at Apia Park was open for Practice on Saturday 18th August at 4pm.

Eight countries have lined up for the lawn bowls events in what is usually one of the most competitive sports played at South Pacific Games.
