Oceania Olympic visit - London 2012
24 Regional and national sport professionals and volunteers were part of the OSEP Community Educators Training in Suva from 10-16 May 2012. Participants represented organisations like NOC's and partners like PNG Sport Foundation, College of Micronesia (COM) - Federated States of Micronesia and Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT).
The training is to provide educators with the skills to competently deliver the OSEP Community Coach & Official (CC&O) and the Sport in Communities Administrator (SiC) with their sport.
After this first stage of training, participants are expected to complete a workplace assessment after which when assessed as competent will receive an OSEP Community Educator accreditation. This will provide them with the recognition to deliver the OSEP Community courses and issue competency certificates as a recognised OSEP Training Provider.
OSEP through partners will closely monitor these participants out in the field with the hope of improving its quality control methods.
During the training, participants also put together an OSEP Community Educator role and responsibilities and the selection criteria to return for the 2014 Refresher training.

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
