2011 Tournament Details

The June Long Weekend Regional Girls Carnival is a 3 day tournament that provides a high standard of competition for Canberra and regional NSW teams.

Supported by Australian Capital Tourism the event is held at the National Hockey Centre, Lyneham with grass matches to be played at Deakin playing fields. The tournament attracts over 50 teams and 700+ participants.

Age divisions for the carnival comprise:

  • Under 11 - Division 1 & 2
  • Under 13 - Division 1 & 2
  • Under 15 - Division 1 & 2
  • Under 17 - Division 1 & 2

The tournament, which coincides annually to the June Long Weekend holiday, is played over three consecutive days, and consists with each team playing approximately five matches.

Days one and two consist of a series of pool matches and cross over pool matches, in the instance where a division has more than one pool. Within each pool, teams are ranked according to the number of points scored (3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss). 

All finals matches to determine 1st and 2nd and final standings within each division are held on day three, with trophies awarded to winners and runners up teams.
