2012 marked the inaugural year for the Michael Ennis Shield. The event is part of ARL Development’s regional Captain’s Cup, which is a series of Rugby League 7’s tournaments held in each district across NSW.

Eagle Rock into the NRL Premiership

After two rounds of the NRL Premiership it appears the February Community Carnival school visits have been successful in inspiring the first grade team. Fourteen schools were visited spreading the word of Rugby League, showing off the NRL Premiership Trophy and a special message about the importance of reading, as it’s the National Year of Reading. Students read from Rugby League Reads Magazines about our own Jamie Buhrer and his pet Rottweiler “Jayda”. Some of the players who read with the students were Tim Robinson, Daniel Harrinson, Josh Drinkwater and Magnus Stromquist.
GYMEA BAY REPRESENT THE SHIRE WELL

The primary school Rugby League season in the Cronulla district was severely hampered by the elements in 2011. The main event of the year, the All Schools gala day was washed out three times. The schools were ready to play but the consistent rain during the winter made the fields unplayable. The schools even agreed to play a “Challenge” series this term to get some football played.
