About The Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
The Melbourne 2005 Deaflympic Games Water Polo competition will take place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). MSAC is an international sporting venue, and is one of the only integrated sports and leisure complex of its type in Australia. The venue will host up to eight sports during the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics Games, allowing competitors and visitors to get a taste of some of the other sports being contested without having to travel too far.
The Multi Purpose pool has permanent seating for 1500+ people. The Olympic sized 10 lane 50 metres competition pool will be configured to Water Polo for the competition.
The centre also includes a multitude of other facilities, including a fully equipped gymnasium, sport medicine clinic, a first aid room, sauna, spa, cafe/bistro and various sports shops.

South Yarra Sports Centre
The Centre will host 3 days of the Official Pre Games training prior to the games time and is only about 10 mins away from the Federation Square and hosts several local school competition throughout the year.

Competition Standards
The Water Polo competition at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics will be run under the rules and auspices of the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA), and the DEAFLYMPICS.

Warm Up Facilities
The competition and utility pool will be available for warm up prior to the competition.

Official Pre Games Training
4 to 7th January 2005. For more details refer to the Pre Games Training Schedule.

Games Time Training
A team, who has a bye on the competition day, will train on the utility pool after the matches.

A schedule will be handed out at the DEAFLYMPICS TD meeting on 7 January 2005.

Assistive Devices
There will be an assistive device demonstration for Water Polo on 7 January at the competition pool.

Additional Information:
Equipment - Match balls will be provided, however, it is the responsibility of each participating team to bring their own training / warm up balls.
