A-Grade Grand Final Winners - Thunder

Tuesday the 1st December 2015 saw Season 2 come to a close, which was well supported by the number of spectators in attendance.

The night was kicked off with the ever popular 3 point shoot out. With the final result going down to the last shot. It was a 3-way tie between Donny George, Troy Chambers and Jiro Prodigalidad. It took an extra 2 rounds to split the trio before Jiro clenched the win with the money ball.

The main event started shortly after with an extremely tight start with Thunder taking a narrow lead at quarter time, 8-7. The second quarter saw much the same pace with both teams off their shooting game. NicTheuerkauf doing a majority of the damage for Thunder. Shark’s Nathan Leeman finding his range from behind the three-point line, assisted by some shooting from Brendan Weil offered some resistance, but Thunder were able to extend the lead by 4 point into the half break.

The Sharks were kept quiet in the third quarter only troubling the scorers twice. Thunder’s Chris Theuerkauf began his dismantling of the Sharks by going on a scoring rampage, bringing the Sharks to their knees giving the Thunder to a 25-17 lead into the last.
The final quarter saw the Shark’s Boden Clark put his foot down, scoring 9 points but it was too little too late, with Thunder putting the Sharks to the sword. Chris continuing his third quarter form, scoring 8 points. Thunder regained some respect after losing to the Sharks in last season’s Grand Final, taking a 48-29 victory.
