Alysia Maddison is the pitcher for the Republic of Marshall Islands women's softball team and wears the number 17.
Alysia was born on November 22, 1994 in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Both her parents are from the Marshall Islands, but lived and raised Alysia in Honolulu. She is going to be a junior this upcoming school year at Hawai'i Pacific University(HPU) and is the pitcher for the university's softball team.
She started playing softball in little league at the age of nine. This year's Micronesian Games is her second time to participate in. Her first Micro Games was in 2010 at Palau, when she was only 15 years old. She stated that there is no secret to her game, only practice. "Perfect practice makes perfect.", as she said.
When asked what her plans were after the games, she said she wanted to join the military, probably the National Guard or Air Force, and then go back to nursing school at HPU.
Her message to the younger generation, "If you like what you are doing, then stick to it, and you'll never know where you will end up in life."
