Please find below accepted sanctions from MRP charges handed down from the weekend.
Ben Kennedy – Casey Demons
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Kennedy for engaging in rough conduct against Geelong player Sam McLachlan during the fourth quarter of the VFL Round 3 match, Geelong vs Casey Demons on Saturday 29th April, 2017 at Simonds Stadium.
Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impactand high contact. The incident was classified as a one match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty, therefore Casey Demons have the option to accept an early guilty plea of a $500 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.
Outcome – accepted $500 fine and reprimand
Ayce Cordy – Williamstown
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Cordy for striking Box Hill player Kurt Heatherley during the third quarter of the VFL Round 3 match, Williamstown vs Box Hill Hawks on Sunday 30th April, 2017 at Burbank Oval.
Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, which resulted in a two match base sanction. Due to player Cordy receiving a reprimand in the last 12 months, a one match additional penalty has been added to the base sanction, therefore player Cordy has been offered a three match sanction, with the option of accepting an early guilty plea of two matches.
Outcome – accepted two match sanction
Anthony Barry - Footscray
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Barry for being the Instigator of a Melee at quarter time of the VFL Round 3 match, Footscray vs North Ballarat on Friday 28th April, 2017 at VU Whitten Oval.
Due to this being player Barry’s first low level offence, AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel has offered a $150 fine (VFL Listed Player) and a reprimand, with the option of accepting an early guilty plea of a reprimand.
Outcome – accepted reprimand
Jake Di Pasquale – Casey Demons
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Di Pasquale for striking Sandringham player Nathan Scagliarini during the fourth quarter of the AFL Victoria Development League Round 3 match, Casey Demons vs Sandringham on Sunday 30th April, 2017 at Casey Fields.
Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, which resulted in a two match base sanction, with the option of accepting an early guilty plea of a one match sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty.
Outcome – accepted one match sanction
Hayden Elliot – Geelong Falcons
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Elliot for engaging in rough conduct (dangerous tackle) against Oakleigh Chargers player Tom Paidoussis during the fourth quarter of the TAC Cup Round 5 match, Oakleigh Chargers vs Geelong Falcons on Saturday 29th April, 2017 at Warrawee Park.
Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with high impactand high contact. The incident was classified as a three match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty, therefore Geelong Falcons have the option to accept an early guilty plea of a two match sanction.
