Regional safeguarding workshop to pave the way

Fiji - The Basketball Federation of PNG has partnered with other sports to support the Team Up programme, aiming to make play safer and more inclusive for women, girls, and children including persons living with a disabilities.

"Emma Waiwai, President of the Basketball Federation said: “Lack of access to resources and networks, makes things even more difficult, especially for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. We are grateful to support and work in partnership with other sports in the pacific through Team Up program while investing in staff professional development to participate in workshops, as such, that aimed at accelerating the move towards better, safer, and more inclusive play for children, women, and girls with disabilities".

With assistance from FIBA and financial backing from Team Up, the PNG Basketball Federation's Basketball for Good initiative has come to fruition.
