BFPNG end of year Wrap-Up

This year BFPNG have been fortunate enough to celebrate several achievements through our community, and high-performance programs. With the continued support of the Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea through Team Up, and PNGAus Partnership. These relationships have been crucial in our endeavors to spread the Basketball for Good message, and the BFPNG board are grateful for their continued support.

Our staff, Miskus, Jordan, and Del, have all had a remarkable year achieving great things, including reaching a participation number of 112,435, which is a significant increase from 84,792 the previous year.
This year we also shifted our focus to gender equality, and education with notable milestones, including female participation, which hit 45 per cent of our overall yearly reach.

We hosted the FIBA Under 17 Oceania Championship and hosted the Australian Defence Force to roll our FIBA Coaching and Officiating courses in Port Moresby, and Madang. We were also fortunate enough to receive support from Pacific Aus Sports in the high-performance space to bolster our capacity at an elite level.

The Pacific Games were hosted by our Solomon Islands brothers and sisters, where our men's and women's teams across 5x5 and 3x3 competed. We will be back bigger, and better for the next Pacific Games which will be hosted by Tahiti in 2027.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
