Pinoy Ballers Take Out Series 1
Pinoy Ballers 1 led by vetran Eric Meneses was unstoppable in the last and final game of the day against an all new Rejects team. They wrapped up the encounter in 8 minutes with a final score of 21 points to 11.
The final game was equally matched and physical from both sides. Both teams had plenty of hard fouls and strong running in the opening minutes, but Pinoys efficieny proved their greates asset. Pinoy Ballers utilized their possession to great effect by scoring on all plays to finally finish off the game against the Rejects.
Rejects team led by Ramo and Carlos were the surpise of the day, as they maintained their unbeaten run sweeping through all teams enroute to the final game against Pinoy Ballers 1.
Third place in Stop 1 of the competition was won by the Da Scrubs who were one of the the favorites and top seeded teams. They beat Bandits Black 9pts to 5 in another physical encounter that went the distance.
All games concluded at 7pm and were held at the multi-purpose hall in Honiara.
SIBF and the organizers of the 3x3 Solo Hoops Stop One, basketball series would like to thank all the teams and clubs for coming out to participate.
SIBF is also delighted that a lot of new young players had their first taste of the 3x3 in competition mode, and have promised to open up more space for additional teams in Stop 2 on October 13.
The organizers are also clalling on womens teams and clubs to join in on the next series, as this is part of the qualifications for Solomon Islands national team and clubs, to particpate in any FIBA 3x3 competitions that will be held in 2020.
A final announcement for interested teams and players (men and women) was made after the competiton that a session on how to set up player 3x3 profiles on the 3x3planet.com. platform will be conducted at NOCSI conference room in Honiara. The session details will be posted on-line and will take place before the next 3x3 Solo Hoops Stop 2- Baskteball Jam Series on the following weekend.
