3X3 SOLOMON GAMES 2023

The Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) along with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 2023 Solomon Games have confirmed that the 3x3 tournament will be held at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) basketball court in East Honiara.

SINIS, through an arrangement with the LOC and the National Sports Council (NSC), will host the short-code basketball sports starting on Wednesday 29th to Thursday 30th March 2023, from 9 am - 4 pm each day.

According to SIBF, the two-day competition will feature 8 provincial teams namely Malaita, Guadalcanal, Temotu, Western, Central, Makira, RenBel province, and Honiara for both the Men's and Women's categories.  The 2023 Solomon Games 3x3 tournament was endorsed by FIBA early this month, following the SIBF application via FIBA 3x3 Event Maker.

"SIBF and LOC will be conducting its 3x3 Technical Meeting this coming weekend, but depending on the arrival of all the teams to Honiara, this is subject to adjustments before formal competition tips off", SIBF indicated in a previous statement.

"SIBF is committed to working closely with the LOC and SINIS in making sure the competition is well organized and managed".

Meanwhile, SIBF with the support of FIBA Oceania and the 2023 Pacific Games - Games Organizing Committee (GOC) will be hosting a 3x3 Technical Expert from Australia during the games. The technical expert will be here to assist with the training of local 3x3 referees and officials and will be observing their performance during the 2023 Solomon Games.

All Provincial Sports Coordinators are reminded to quickly confirm their final team lists with LOC/NSC and also send those details to SIBF before the Technical Meeting and final 3x3 session on Tuesday at SINIS.
