3x3 OFFICIALS PREP FOR SOLOMON GAMES 2023

Troy Earle, from Melbourne, Victoria Australia flew into the country this week to help support the 3x3 competition during the 2023 Solomon Games.

The trip which was made possible by the 2023 Pacific Games, Games Organizing Committee (GOC) is part of the ongoing preparation for technical officials, in the lead-up to the main event later this year.

Endorsed by FIBA Oceania and supported by the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF), Troy Earle just completed a run-down session for technical officials and referees on Monday afternoon at the SINIS Conference Room. The officials were updated on the recent 3x3 rules and approach to game management.

"This is an important session and one that has helped clarified a few of the main rules for 3x3 for us officials," said Tommy Daffie, the lead 3x3 official referee for the Solomon Games 2023.

"We appreciate Troy coming over to assist us, and hopefully we can perform well to officiate the games commencing on Wednesday for our players", he added. 

The 3x3 event is set to tip off Wednesday. The main Technical Meeting will take place the day before and Provincial teams are required to send in their reps to finalize draws and fixtures on Tuesday 28th March 2023, at the SINIS Conference, starting at 10 am.

The competition is for two days and will have a total of eight provincial teams competing for the medals.
