Three wins for Flames

KSS Flames basketball club from Papua New Guinea (PNG) has won the final friendly match against Solomon Islands national men’s basketball team at the Multipurpose Hall earlier in the week.

Flames ended the final match with a 78-69 win to make it three wins in a row.

The friendly matches are organized by the Solomon Islands Basketball federation (SIBF) and the owners of the KSS Flames club, John Kapi Natto and his wife, Vonnie.

The main purpose for these matches is to help both teams in their preparations for the upcoming competitions.

This is the first tough test they have come across since their training started a few months ago.

According to coach, Brendan Beak the matches have shown areas which they need to patch up before the competition kicks off.

He appreciated the tough contest Flames gave to his players so they could get the feel of the competitiveness they will be expecting during the real competition.

Flames manager, Vonnie Kapi Natto thanked both teams for putting on three entertaining matches.

She assured the squad of their support for the Melanesian cup tournament.
