The Kiribati Basketball Federation was successfully achieved the refereeing workshop conducted within 18 Schools including 12 Primary schools and 6 Junior Secondary schools. The training runs in three days starting from Wednesday 14/03 and ended on Friday 16/03. According to the training framework KBF conducts two days for a theory session and one day for on court session every afternnon 4pm - 6:30pm. The training venue was the Mormon premises based in Teaorareke village. Mormon Premises was build as one of the Moroni standard court and never used nowadays in running competition/leagues in relation with KBF events. This year the federation executive push hard to this place if they could use it in this coming future event.
The main purpose of output course is to train teachers in order for them to maintain the program within their schools.
There were 10 participant from schools attending the first day of training course including Moroni, BTC JSS, TUC 1, Animarao and 7 Primary schools together with 2 kids representing their school. On the second day of training 14 Teachers turn up followed with kids. During the course the federation also provide information to the school reps such as registration form and course materials. These information are handed to schools rep in order for them to use the material when they conduct training program within schools.
The competition will be starting on Saturday 24th March in Bairiki court as it is the opening of the game and expected to complete on Saturday 21st April. The KBF remind all schools to bring their registered teams no later on Friday 23th March.
