H4H Program

On Monday 20th Oct, first arrival in Nadi met with David and Jo recap the whole topic to dicuss on the next day.

Hoop for Health is a program that helps each of national federation throughout the pacific region. Recently this year H4H will be implemented to the Kiribati Baskebtall Federation dealing with the communities/people who are not playing, involve and familiar with basketball. According to the plan and budget discussed there are areas the federation need to focus in running the program as Program Management (administration, staff and monitoring/evaluation), Partnership, Governance and Quality Basketball. The 25,000AUD will be the funding provided by FIBA Oceania through Australian Sport Commission endorsement to cover the whole project effectively from Nov 2104 - June 2015.

On Tuesday 21st Oct, NBDO and President has a chance observing Fiji H4H program conducted at St. Mary Primary in Lautoka and discuss with NBDO Lai, NBDA and H4H Coordinator about management of the program, payment and monitoring. This is a good opportunity for Kiribati Basketball Federation to observe and learn quality of basketball in Fiji and happy to share with Kiribati people. In completion of the meeting the federation and FIBA Oceania agreed to work together. The same time Jo Ferris proposed the appropriate date to visit Kiribati on Monday 17th Nov to finalize everything. As of now, the federation confirmed the visit.
