Big V coaches Report

We finally get back on our home court tonight after a horror schedule which saw us play 5 consecutive away games. That luxury will be short lived as we are on the road again tomorrow to visit Keilor for our 4th game in 8 days in a big Mother’s Day showdown.

Last week we played some of our best team basketball in the first half against top team Blackburn but a horrendous 3rd quarter proved to be the difference in the end, if we can replicate the first half performance we will give ourselves every chance of getting back on the winners list.

Both games this week are crucial to our finals prospects which should see a huge rise in intensity and performance. We will need to string 4 quarters together, limit turnovers and play better team basketball at both ends of the floor to come away with 2 wins.

I am expecting a lift across the board from all of our senior players and look forward to regaining a full squad this weekend after some unavailability at trainings and games has really hampered us over the past few rounds.

The positive side of player unavailability was the performances displayed last week by 2 of our young guns Nick Dodd & Bailey Michel who both impressed with increased opportunity on the court and we certainly look forward to seeing these 2 continue to progress and have an impact for us going forward.
