Coaches Report-Rd.8 Big V Gators Men
It was pleasing getting back on a winning note last weekend by defeating Warrandyte 73-63 after a slow start on Saturday and hanging on against a fast finishing Keilor 78-75 after leading comfortablyonSunday.
Our captain Matt Bartlett was back to somewhere near his best in both games whilst Reggie Fuller, Josh McKay & John Woodcock played important roles also across the weekend.
This week we welcome the ladder leading Blackburn Vikings (8-1) to our venue. The Vikings have been in devastating form so far this season and have significantly improved their depth of talent, size and experience from last year and are a very well balanced & even outfit.
Our recent encounter saw us competitive for the first half but we were completely outplayed in the pivotal 3rd quarter and never recovered eventually going down by 12 points 64-76.
We eagerly look forward to today’s challenge on our home floor however we will need to produce our best 4 quarter performance of the season so far to get the win.
