Round 18 What the Coach has to say!
Round 12 has us playing a massive double header against Keysborough (6/7) at home on Saturday evening and Geelong (6/7) on the road on Sunday afternoon.
Both teams are only 1 win behind us on the ladder as only 1 game separates 5th place right down to 11th place which demonstrates how important both of these games mean to our finals chances.
A win tonight is critical and we will need to be at our best to beat Keysborough who have performed extremely well this season after being promoted to the Division 1 competition after winning the Division 2 title last season.
They are a very talented and dangerous team led by players such as Calvin Enge, Aaron Abram, Ben Morwood, Jamie Leclerc, David Smith & Steven Haddrell. As a team they shoot the perimeter ball very well at times and our ability to contest shots & rebound will be pivotal in the outcome. There will certainly be some great match ups tonight when you consider the recent form of Reggie Fuller, Matt Bartlett, Josh McKay, Bailey Michel and co.
Our recent form has been much better and we will need to sustain that level of play for the rest of the season to hold our position in the top 8.
In order to achieve this we will need an even and committed contribution from all players and equally as important we will need our crowd support to also be at a very high level as we embark on an important but exciting stage of the season.
