The key function of the selection panel is interview and select suitable candidates to fill the role of Junior Gators Coach for each age group.  Guidelines for selection of coaches is set out in “Coach Selection Committee Operational Role and Responsibilities” which can be found at this link Coach Selection Committee Operational Role and Responsibilities.

The Role of the Coach Selection Panel:

• Act in accordance and under the guidance of the Greater Shepparton Basketball Association to achieve a level of high performance as deemed appropriate for the organisation.
• Develop a game coaching philosophy for use by all Representative Junior Gators sides.
• The Philosophy shall have an offence and defence structure to be taught by all appointed coaches in line with the senior program and is to be updated from time to time to improve the ability and likelihood of Junior Gators players reaching the level of Senior Representative player for the Greater Shepparton Basketball Association.
• Be responsible for selection of Coaches to implement this philosophy and provide the appropriate representative coaching for Junior Squads as laid out in this document.
• Oversee Coach Development and progression and manage coaches involved in Shepparton Representative Basketball for the development of and progression of athletes towards State, National and Senior representation for Shepparton.
• The Coach Selection Panel may be called upon from time to time to assist in Senior Coach Selection.
• The Coach Selection Panel shall manage appropriately all coaching matters as laid out in the Junior Squad Operational Policies and Guidelines, April 2015.
• The Coach Selection Panel is responsible to the GSBA COM and entrusted with appointing coaches who will adjust and include the program as developed into their coaching roles.
