Over the school holidays we took a boys and girls U12 team down to the Sleeman Complex in Brisbane to compete in the Annugral Queensland U12 Club Champs. It was a great 3 days of basketball with teams coming from all over Queensland.

The boys started well with 2 wins from their first 3 games which put them in the running for a medal. From then the competition dominated our younger team but they played hard and gave it all to finish a very respectable 8th out of 16 teams.

The girls had a very young and inexperienced team but grew in skill and confidence every game they played. One game going into double extra time and narrowly missing the win. It was amazing the team spirit that oozed from the girls even though they weren't getting any wins. On the last day it finally clicked and they won their first game 32 - 3 and it was the icing on the cake for a great weekend. The girls finished a galiant 10th of 14 teams.

I can't express how proud I was of our Noosa teams and coaching staff. We were the only club there with U16 coaches when all the other teams had adult coaches. It really shows how proud our club is of including our younger members in all facets of the game. Speacial thanks to Xander, Conner, Colby and Ruby, you guys and girls are such great role models to the younger kids. To all the parents who travelled, cooked, supported and ended up on the committee...... THANK YOU!!
