Edition 6 July 2017

Message from Executive Officer

I hope you have all enjoyed the school holidays and looking forward to the Championship season.  Unfortunately, the venue has been closed for the holidays and it has been difficult to get some shots up, however I am certain that it will all be worth it.  The front courts are looking great and should be ready to go on the 19th July with some club training.  They will then be closed for the wheelchair basketball game and club training may be able to commence from Sunday 24th July (fingers crossed).  I will put a message on Facebook and the website if they are open for public shoot around prior.  We are slowly getting in registrations for the Championship season, and I will remind people they MUST register online to enable Clubs to fill their teams.  Even if you are using your school vouchers and have paid your yearly rego with your club you still must register!!  Grab a coffee or a coldie and read on!
In order to keep the floors in pristine condition, it would be great if people could refrain from wearing their basketball shoes outside or wearing their outside shoes to basketball.  Please wear thongs, slides or alternate footwear to basketball and change shoes courtside.  This keeps the courts and your shoes in great condition!!!
Registrations are now open for players for the 2017 Championship season that will commence on 31st July 2017.

Registrations WILL close on Monday 24th July 2017, to enable the draw to be finalised and posted for the season.

DBA Registration will remain at $100 for Juniors (plus a Pre Registration of $5) - this enables us to capture all registrations for people whether they pay online or use a voucher.  If you are using a Sports Voucher, we understand they will not be distributed until school commences, however it is still important to pay your club fees and register asap.  Sports Vouchers will be handed in throughout August.  Club registrars and coaches need players to register in order to finalise teams, and allow the season to kick off without fuss.

All clubs have different fee schedules.

YOU MUST SELECT A PRODUCT FROM YOUR CLUB IN ORDER TO BE ALIGNED TO THAT CLUB - EVEN IF IT IS A $0

Monday  27th November   Finals Week
Saturday  2nd December   Junior Finals and League FINALS
Q.  Why do I have to register EVERY season?

A.  In order for your club to know what teams they have, what players they have, you need to register to play each season.  It is not enough to just presume they know you are playing.  You MUST register and select a product for the system to register you to your club and to DBA.

Q.  Why can't I pay cash or come into the office and pay?

A.  The online system is designed to capture all data, and make payments.  DBA have implemented policies to eliminate cash handling.

Q.  I haven't got my voucher yet so why should I register?

A.  We understand the NT sports vouchers will not be released until school returns and people will have until the end of August to bring them in.  Please register and select the voucher option to ensure you do not miss a spot on the team.

Q.  When are finals?

A.  Grand Finals will commence on 27th November.

Q.  Why do some Divisions have Pools?

A.  If a competition has more than 8 teams, then they are unable to play each other more than twice and in some cases will only play each other once.  We have therefore put in Pools based on Challenge season results, so teams are able to play each other 2 or more times and get clear results on the ladder.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand.
