For just $350.00 a Squad of 20 Players and 5 Adults can attend a State of Origin Match in Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

Level 1 Preliminary Referees Course

The NSWRL Referees Coaching and Development Unit will be conducting a Level 1 Preliminary Referees Course on Monday 21st January 2013.

The course will be held at Sports House, 6A Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park. The course will be run from 9:00am to 4:30pm, Cost $25.00.

Smoke Free Sports Grounds

From 7 January 2013, smoking is banned in spectator areas at public sports grounds and other recreational areas in NSW. However, smoking will only be banned when an organised sporting event is being held.

Major sporting facilities are included under the defi nition of a public sports ground and will be required to comply with the new law.

NSWRL honours volunteers

NSWRL Chairman, John Chalk, had a simple but far reaching message for attendees of the NSWRL Junior League Volunteer Awards Night at Homebush this week.

“Rugby League may have just signed a television deal worth over one billion dollars but the support the army of volunteers contributes to the game is something that can never be put on a press release or written on a cheque,” Chalk said.

2012 NSW Young Achievers Tour to PNG

Recently the NSWRL Academy sent an Under 16's Young Achievers Team for our annual tour of PNG. 25 Players and 8 Staff travelled to PNG for the 7 Day Tour. Cannon Ball Tackle

The NSWRL wish to remind all Junior League’s and Referee’s Association of the paramount importance of player safety during games. All Leagues would be aware the League issued a statement on 5 July 2011 regarding the “cannonball’ tackle.

The NSWRL supports this edict thus ensuring that Referee’s have the same interpretation of the “cannonball tackle” at all levels of the Game
