Wilkie debuts and Blair scores 20.

Congratulations to Harbour rep Dylan Wilkie who scored 7 points on his Sal’s NBL debut for the Franklin Bulls last weekend. Unfortunately it was in a losing cause as the Bulls lost 103-82 to Otago Nuggets.

Denhym Brooke was a standout performer for the Bulls, making 4 blocks in addition to scoring 17 points.

Jonno Janssen scored 13 points in a 112-109 loss against Nelson Giants and followed that with 9 points and 9 rebounds as the Hawkes Bay Hawks lost their second game of the weekend at a damp Cowles Stadium against the Canterbury Rams.

Brayden Inger enjoyed a fine double as he scored 21 points as the Southland Sharks bit the Taranaki Mountain Airs 114-72 and followed up with 19 points in a 100-88 defeat of Manawatu Jets.

Zach Riley put in a tremendous defensive shift but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Auckland Huskies falling 73-71 to the Otago Nuggets at Eventfinda Stadium in Saturday night.

2 steals, a block, 9 points and a game high 7 assists capped a good night for the Harbour representative who will be suiting up at U19 Nationals this coming weekend.

Once again congratulations to Olivia Bell, Tayla Dalton, Ashleigh Kelman-Poto and Emme Shearer who participated in the 18-player Sky Sport Tall Ferns Selection Camp last weekend.

The team for the Asia Cup will be named at a later date.

In Australia:

Brooke Blair scored 20 points to help the Brisbane Capitals to a narrow 78-74 win at Northside Wizards. The Capitals are now 2-2 in the NBL1 Northern Conference.

Micaela Cocks produced 8 points and 4 assists as Townsville Flames won a third straight game defeating Cairns Dolphins 92-53.
