Wrap on Sal's NBL season plus news from Oz

The 2021 Sal’s NBL concluded at the weekend with Wellington Saints crowned champions which meant none of the six Harbour players involved in the Final 4 claimed a winners medal.

Jono Janssen came the closest as the Hawkes Bay Hawks were pipped 77-75 by the Saints in a gripping final.

In the semi-finals Brayden Inger scored 18 points but Southland Sharks were defeated 98-91 by the Hawks.

In the other semi Zach Riley tallied 17 points in the Auckland Huskies 99-73 loss to the Saints.

Ahead of his Brisbane Bullets commitments Jack Salt has headed to Queensland to play for Northside Wizards in the NBL1 North competition.

He added 8 rebounds to 10 points on debut as the Wizards accounted for Red City Roar 107-79.

In the Women’s NBL1 North Conference Townsville Flames scorched Brisbane Capitals 76-48 with Micaela Cocks scoring 10 points. The Flames kept Capitals guard Brooke Blair to just 6 points.

Micaela scored 10 points again as the Flames completed the weekend double header with a crushing 117-55 pommeling of Cairns Dolphins – the Flames now third on the ladder with a 9-3 record.
