NEW TEAM
WE welcome for season 2010 Greater West Sydney to the TAC Cup.
Greater Western Sydney will take the place of Gold Coast, who will this season play in the VFL.
It will enable players to experience the same travelling and preparation procedures that they did when commuting to the Gold Coast.
NEW COACHES
NEW Geelong Falcons coach Paul Hood creates another first in the 19th year of the TAC Cup.
Hood, the winner of the 1995 Morrish Medal when playing for the Falcons, is the first Morrish Medallist to coach a TAC Cup club.
He replaces Garry Hocking, who heads to Port Adelaide as a development coach.
MURRAY Bushrangers welcomes Darren Ogdier as coach after premiership coach Phil Bunn accepted a position as recruiting manager for Port Adelaide. Darren has been an assistant coach at the Bushrangers for the past couple of seasons.
FORMER Sandringham premiership captain, VFA representative and Kanagaroos assistant coach Anthony Allen takes over at Northern Knights from Denis Pagan who resigned because of business commitments.
ESSENDON premiership player and North Melbourne assistant coach Darren Bewick is coach of Eastern Ranges.
Bewick, who coached Gippsland Power in 2001-02, takes over from Shane Watson, who heads to North Melbourne.
VIC METRO
Andrew Nichol, who played at Footscray and Box Hill, is the new Vic Metro Under 16 coach.
Nichol, an assistant coach at Box Hill last season, takes over from Andrew Johnston, recently appointed High performance Manager at the Gold Coast.
Former Demon Paul Wheatley will help out with the defensive coaching for Vic Metro Under 18; Cain Liddle will be the mid-field coach.
Collingwood teammates Josh Fraser and Shane O’Bree will assist with the Under 17 Academy program with Pie Leigh Brown the head coach.
Fraser will also help with the ruck coaching with the Under 16s and Essendon great Matthew Lloyd will also assist on training nights.
