Juniors end their season
The AFL North Coast Juniors concluded their season with Grand Finals at BCU International Stadium last Sunday.
Luckily, the predicted heavy rain didn't eventuate, paving the way for skilful football in the fine conditions.
The Under 11s Lightning Premiership was a new concept and it went well, with Bellingen/Nambucca coming through victors in the Final versus Lower Clarence. Congratulations to the club for a successful season with some talented young juniors coming through.
The Under 13s saw the Swans lead from start to finish against Lower Clarence. The Swans' size and superior ball skills was too much for the young Eagles' outfit. It was a family affair with Jacob Sincock named best on ground, and his dad, Jason, being named as Coach of the Year.
The Under 15s was the tightest fought contest on the day. Favourites, Sawtell eventually overcame the Coffs Swans in front of a passionate crowd.
The day also included the naming of the Best and Fairest Awards.
Another highlight of the day was Tony and Shirley Linnett being named as Life Members. The Linnett's have been solid contributors to the Junior League for several years, and such an honour was thoroughly warranted.
