Port Macquarie Magpies were successful in securing a community grant from Coastline Credit Union for just under $10k. The Pies used this grant to construct new shelters for both the home team and away team at their home ground Wayne Richards Park. As you can see in the picture the shelters are a fantastic edition to Wayne Richards Park and can seat a team.
Another idea the Pies used to fundraise for the club was by selling the advertising rights to the goalpost pads on the premise that every time a team scores during a game the attention of all players and supporters is drawn to the sponsor. This was taken up immediately and is a strategy that could be implemented by all clubs.
Well done to the Pies for showing great initiative in fundraising.
