Sawtell Saints V Coffs Swans at Richardson Park Sawtell

 

Under 7 – A great start to the season with 16 players taking the field. For the Swans best players were Thomas Allen, Caleb King, Austin Holzmam, Alex Payne and Siena Bordignon. For the Saints Zac Clark and Matthew White were award winners with goal kickers including Angus Anderson and Cody Britnell.

               

Under 10 – Best players for the Swans were Jacob Sincock, Tyrone Jones, Luke Symons, Remy Bordignon, Ryan Marshall, Joshua Oliver, Billy Reynolds and Patrick Collins. For the Saints best players were Curtis, Isaac, Jesse, Dylan, Jack, Danny and Connor.

 

Under 12 – Coffs Swans 7-9-51 to Sawtell Saints 4-5-29

Coffs Swans won a closely contested match led by McKinlay Pearce and Jai Lane. Both had strong games and their footy awareness and skill stood out in a game that had strong tackling and quick passes by hand and foot.  Other good players for the Swans were Harrison Phillips (4 goals), Jacob Sincock, Tyrone Jones, Kieren Bellemore and Caleb Seiver. Beat players for the Saints included Sam Taylor (one goal), Jordan Perks, Ryan Magill and Judd Duncan. Other goal kickers for the Saints were Jay Wisuttisart and Isaac Duncan.

 

Under 14 – Sawtell Saints 11-3-69 to Coffs Swans 1-3-9

Sawtell’s taller and older running players dominated from the start. For the Saints awards went to Jake Saunders and Jordan Hayes with goals shared between many players. Best players for the Swans were Damien Attwood, Jai Lane, Fraser Tankel and Zach Symons.

 

Under 16 - Sawtell Saints defeated Coffs Swans

Best players for Sawtell Saints were Jack Gillingham (2 goals), Dylan Burkitt, Simon Taylor (2 goals), Brandon Sparkes and Cody Moran. Other goal kickers included Blake Brisset, Adam Coad, Daniel Shipman and Ethan Kelly.

 

Northern Beaches V North Coffs Roos at Centennial Oval Woolgoolga

 

Under 7 – An excellent with plenty of young talent experiencing AFL for the first. Best on ground for the Roos was Luca Cougal, with other award winners Neihana Milne, Jezak Sykes and Noah Sykes with Isabella O’Donnell, Ty Close, Cody Polkinhorne, Aidan Joseph and Christian Christensen having good games.

 

Under 10 – The Roos and Blues swept the ball from end to end in a closely fought game. For the Roos new recruits Madeline Jeffrey, Kai Onley and Natalia Robson played well along with Lachlan Clarke, Samuel O’Donnell, Peter Guise and Grace Homan.

 

Under 12 – North Coffs 9-9-63 to Northern Beaches 2-2-13

After a close first quarter the Roos kicked away in the second quarter to lead by 19 points at halftime. The Roos finished strongly with 5 goals in the final quarter. For the Roos best players were Blayke Sykes (3 goals), Machut Machut, Riley Channells (1 goal), Lachlan Kelly (1 goal) and Karly Amos (award winner). Other goal kickers were Jay Close, Brayden Coad, James Langfield and Isaac Rowe.

 

Under 14 – Northern Beaches 9-11-65 to North Coffs 9-10-64

North Coffs started well kicking 3 goals with the breeze in the first quarter. Northern Beaches reversed the trend to score 4 goals to lead by one point at halftime. The rest of the game was a close tussle with the lead fluctuating with finally Northern Beaches hanging on for the narrowest of victories. For the Roos best players were Nick Bailey (3 goals), Rohan McMahon (2 goals) and David Harcombe. Other goal scorers were Mitchell Hall and Brandon Kelly. New players James King, Mitch Papley and Cody Papley also had good games.

 

Under 16 – North Coffs defeated Northern Beaches

For the Roos new players Kane Cahill, Brandon Gardiner, Oscar Smith, Bill Foster and Daniel Slater played very well and will be an asset to North Coffs in their return to the Under 16s competition.

 

Round 2 Games – Sunday 6 April from 9am.

Sawtell V North Coffs at Richardson Park, Sawtell

Northern Beaches V Bellingen/Nambucca at Centennial Oval Woolgoolga.
