Fourteen local kids to represent Northern Heat

The local juniors travelled to Teralba in Newcastle over the weekend to contest in a series of matches designed to test every facet of the candidates skills. Over 120 talented players were in attendance, with players from Northern NSW, Newcastle, Central Coast and Central West, vying for positions in the 24-man squads.

Conditions definitely made it difficult for players to show their wide range of skills, with rain falling during the morning before clearing, leading to greasy conditions.

It is first time the North Coast has had this many players make the squad, and there is a strong possibility that there will be some representation in the State Squad after the live-in camp at St Ignatius College, Riverview. The camp will be conducted from 21-25 April, with the selected players required to go to Newcastle this weekend to undergo physical testing and further training sessions.

Congratulations once again go to these players on behalf of the AFL North Coast.
